We are a family business passionate about the environment and nature.
Nafici Environmental Research are at the forefront of the research and development into the use of wheat straw (or barley straw, oat straw, corn stover and more), transforming it efficiently into paper pulp.
FACT: Many countries producing wheat, barley, oat or rice have a surplus of straw that they are burning or leaving to compost.
Around 3 million tonnes of straw are unsold in the UK every year and therefore composted despite the fact that it can be transformed into paper pulp that not only is worth million of pounds but could save hundreds of thousands of hardwood trees at the same time.
Several solutions have been researched and developed but most have proved unfeasible and costly.
Our research team however has developed a process that overcomes the cost disadvantages of a normal straw pulping. Using our 30 years experience in cellulose extraction from wheat straw we now have an effective and efficient way to reintroduce wheat straw pulp to the paper industry offering significant environmental advantages, by-products and income opportunities.
We are now at a very exciting time in our business. Last year we launched our small scale ECOPULPING demonstration plant, a flexible way to produce unbleached paper pulp from straw and this year we are building the first commercial plant to produce marketable unbleached wheat straw pulp. Once trialed this will then roll out to paper mills as an easy flexible very cost effective way to produce paper pulp, to create an additional income stream for farmers AND be environmentally friendly. Find out more…
We are currently under process of preparing for the development of 2 other new commercial plants, one in the UK and overseas. We are looking at developing our model worldwide.
WHY NOT GET INVOLVED?
If you share our love of nature and would like to be part of our story why not get in touch?
Install an Ecopulping Mill
If you are a Paper or packaging mill or an investor looking to have access to or to produce a cheaper and more sustainable paper pulp compared to wood pulp, Ecopulping Mills could be a very interesting proposition for you. The wheat straw does not need to be dry and the process can therefore use top bales. This is an advantage for farmers to be able to sell the straw they usually cannot sell.
We are seeking investors and partners to join us. Our projects offer a highly ethical and environmentally friendly business opportunity with potentially high yields.
Have you got ambition?
If you have an idea or project regarding our processes, why not get in touch. You may be looking for help on products or processes associated with turning straw or other agricultural wastes into paper pulp and other by-products.
